The interactive whiteboard provides concrete and visual representations of mathematical ideas that make them easier for children to understand. Demonstrating how to tackle the problems using familiar materials means the new technology can be linked seamlessly with traditional approaches.

The Toolbox provides a stimulus to promote discussion and the sharing of ideas. It gives clear images that everyone can see and relate to when talking and listening to one another.
Tracy Kemp, Year 4 teacher, Rushey Green Primary School
Duration: 2 min 17 sec
The whiteboard provides an excellent resource for exploring familiar mathematical models. Here the teacher demonstrates a number of simple ideas that can be used on a regular basis.
How the hundred square can be used creatively to enrich lesson starters.
Rebecca Kirk, Year 2 teacher, Rushey Green Primary School

How the weighing scales can be used to give a clear demonstration and in problem solving tasks.
Children often have difficulty in reading dials and scales on measuring equipment. The Toolbox model of the weighing scales does not replace the need for exploring real equipment but its large size is very helpful both in demonstrating how to use it and in sharing ideas and strategies.
Rosemary Hunt, Year 5/6 teacher, Coopers Lane Primary School
