A Maths Dictionary for Kids

By Jenny Eather

Reviews

"This really is an excellent piece of software. It was used primarily in the context of whole class teaching with an interactive whiteboard, both as a starter to the lesson and also as part of the plenary. The dictionary was used on a (nearly) daily basis. It was used to introduce new terms with which the children were not familiar and also to revise and reinforce previous work.
It proved to be extremely useful when revising key concepts and vocabulary particularly in the run up to end of key stage tests. The dictionary was also used by individual children to look up the meaning of unfamiliar words, both on the interactive whiteboard and also on the school network using desktop PCs. As well as whole class teaching, the software was used by children in groups and pairs using laptops and desktop PCs. Feedback from other staff who had limited use of the dictionary was also very positive."
