Yes. You will need to have administrator access to your computer to do this - please check with your ICT coordinator.

How do I install the software on my computer?

On most computers, the installation program will start automatically. If you have auto-run turned off, you will need to start the program manually: insert the disk, access the CD-ROM drive via the 'my computer' icon and double-click on the 'install' icon. You will find more information about installing the program in the insert booklet which accompanies each CD-ROM.

Do I need to have the CD-ROM in the computer once I have installed the software?

No, once the software has been installed, it does not require the CD-ROM to operate.

Will the software run on a network?

A Maths Dictionary for Kids can be installed on a network, and a network licence is included in the price of the software.

To install A Maths Dictionary for Kids on a network, place the CD-ROM in the server's CD drive, cancel the automatic installation, and then right-click on the CD-ROM icon. From the menu, select open. Select the install icon and copy and paste it into your chosen folder on the server. Client machines will now be able to install directly from the server by clicking on the Mult-e-Maths installer icon.

Mult-e-Maths is specifically designed to make use of the features offered by an interactive whiteboard to support whole class teaching; it also offers independent activities for children.

Based around objectives from the National Numeracy Strategy framework, Mult-e-Maths Strands should fit in well with the rest of your planning. There are starters to recap previously learnt material, and lesson ideas which introduce new topics and offer plenary material for consolidation.
