Do I need to have the CD-ROM in the computer once I have installed the software?No. Once the software has been installed, it does not require the CD-ROM to operate. Will the software run on a network?Apex Maths Word Problems can be installed on a network, and a network licence is included in the price of the software. To install the software on a network: 1. Place the CD-ROM in the server's CD drive, cancel the automatic installation, and then right-click on the 'CD-ROM' icon. 2. From the menu, select 'open'. 3. Select the installation file and copy and paste it into your chosen folder on the server. Client machines will now be able to install directly from the server by clicking on the installation file. How will Apex Maths Word Problems improve Maths teaching in my school?Apex Maths Word Problems provides an easy-to-access, customisable bank of differentiated word problems to save you time in thinking up new problems, and prepares ready-to-print-out activity sheets. It allows you to mix and match all mathematical operations across a range of maths topics, enabling activity sheets to be tailored to suit the topic(s) being taught and also to encourage children to reason about which operation is best for a particular problem. It provides a range of familiar and interesting contexts that will encourage children to use and apply their mathematical knowledge. Do I need an interactive whiteboard to use the software?Not necessarily, although Apex Maths Word Problems is designed to make use of the features offered by an interactive whiteboard. The activity sheets generated by the software can be previewed on a whiteboard, with the options of highlighter, pen and eraser tools, to help you to discuss the problems with children. Can I use my school's e-learning credits?Yes. Apex Maths Word Problems can be bought using e-learning credits. What software will I need to use Apex Maths Word Problems?Most computers will already have all the necessary software installed. Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher (with the Flash plug-in) and Microsoft Word are required to be able to view the tests generated by Apex Maths Word Problems.
